UNICEF Tap Project

We are now proud to be participating in the UNICEF Tap Project, a life-saving initiative that provides safe water to children around the world through the generous support of restaurant diners. The UNICEF Tap Project incorporates participating restaurants who ask their patrons to donate $1 for the tap water that they normally enjoy for free, and those proceeds benefit UNICEF water, sanitation and hygiene programs.

Nearly $3 million raised for UNICEF water and sanitation programs – saving the lives of countless children

5000 participating restaurants
11,000 registered volunteers
350 volunteer-run events
More than 6 billion media impressions

The 2012 UNICEF Tap Project donations funded water and sanitation programs in Togo, Vietnam, Mauritania and Cameroon, some of the nations most impacted by the world water crisis.

Restaurant sales can be sign of the economic times

RALEIGH, N.C. — The tale of the tape is still being tallied for the 2011 holiday season, and with it the data on consumer sentiment about the economy.

Retailers cashed in with record Black Friday sales, then saw a few weeks of slump before last-minute shoppers again boosted store traffic.

For those with tight budgets, holiday shopping may force a choice to cut back in other areas.

“Right now sales are not up,” said Sarig Agasi, owner of Zely and Ritz restaurant in Raleigh. “I wish they were, but there’s too many unemployed.”
